The most famous alpine road leads directly into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park – to Austria's highest mountain, the 3,798-m-high Grossglockner with its glacier, the Pasterze. On its length of 48 km with 36 bends and a peak elevation of 2,504 m, it offers a unique nature and driving experience – from blooming pastures through fragrant mountain forests to mighty rocks up to the glacier ice at the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe at the foot of the Grossglockner.
