Alpine Delight

Right in the center of Kaprun, Maiskogel Family Mountain attracts visitors with gentle hiking paths and wonderful views of the Kaprun valley. As a mouthwatering culinary addition to any excursion to Kaprun’s popular local mountain, we suggest a picnic basket for two stuffed full of delicious regional products. 

From smoky Pinzgau bacon, Alpine cheese and homemade chutney to farm-fresh organic yogurt, a mini bundt cake from the in-house bakery, and much more. The local suppliers are carefully selected, with many products displaying the “SalzburgerLand Certificate of Origin”. In the basket, you will also find cutlery, glasses, plates, and a cozy picnic blanket.

As of 9 am daily, you can pick up your picnic at the Maisi Alm right next to the valley lift station of the MK Maiskogelbahn (by advance order only). From there, you will enjoy a pleasant gondola ride all the way up to the top, or as far as the Stanger station.The Maiskogel with its lush green alpine meadows offers numerous quiet places with fantastic views at every altitude Now, all that’s left to do is find the perfect spot, spread out your blanket, unpack your picnic, and enjoy!
