Maiskogel Hut Tour
This easy hike past alpine meadows and mountain huts is rich in variety and especially suitable for families as well as nature lovers. The four traditional huts on the Maiskogel invite passersby to take the weight off their feet and sample a delicious selection of popular regional snacks.
From the town center of Kaprun, you will first enjoy a pleasant ride on the MK Maiskogelbahn up to the Maiskogel mountain terminal at 1570 m. This is where the Hut Tour begins: The flat path leads west, straight to the rustic Unterbergalm (1570 m). This is followed by a gentle uphill walk to a scenic lookout point at Alpengasthof Glocknerblick (1670 m). The path now continues towards the valley, bringing you to the Maiskogel Alm Ranch (1540 m). From here, you will return to the Maiskogel mountain terminal. However, before riding back down to the valley, we would suggest making a final refreshment stop at the Saulochalm (1570 m), located directly below the Maiskogel lift station.

Beginning in each case at the Maiskogel mountain terminal, out to the Unterbergalm, Alpengasthaus Glocknerblick and the Maiskogel Alm Ranch.

Parents and the two eldest children/teenagers* pay the regular price, all other children/teenagers* get free tickets.
Dogs are transported (EUR 6.50 day ticket / EUR 70.00 annual pass). Dogs must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle. Muzzles can be borrowed from the cash desks at the valley stations and the InfoService in the Alpincenter if a deposit is left.
