Kitzsteinhorn ranks first in Salzburg

By July 27th, 127,466 people had tagged the Kitzsteinhorn in a post, which brought the glacier two top spots in the nationwide comparison with over 2,000 mountains: number one in Salzburg and number four in Austria. “The hashtag analysis of the Kitzsteinhorn showed that photos of the view over Zell am See, the High Tauern and the impressive hydro-electric power plants of Kaprun dominated”, states Petra Haller, Austria Press Agency spokeswoman.

Mountain & human in harmony

The Kitzsteinhorn was happy to stand also on another podium in 2022: According to Feratel Media Technologies Inc.’s international online voting, the camera on the summit of the Kitzsteinhorn shows the most beautiful winter mountain panorama in the state of Salzburg as well as the third most beautiful in Austria (Panorama Award). “When humans and nature harmonize with one another, wonderful things can emerge – the Kitzsteinhorn gives us proof of that”, says Norbert Karlsböck, CEO of the Gletscherbahnen Kaprun Inc. “We offer a variety of activities and facilities all year round, which is much appreciated by our guests. At the same time, the members of our team do everything they possibly can to protect and preserve the mountain every step of the way behind the scenes. People can see our devotion and responsibility, our hashtag presence on social media as well as our voting result bear witness to that. We are happy about our rankings; they confirm us once more in our work on and with the mountain.”
